Regicide

This book is less burdened with the tedium of establishing the rules of the universe and is able to spin a more entertaining yarn. This allows the author to spend more time and attention the plot with less need for exposition. The various characters get enough background and flavor to remain interesting and feel relatively realistic, within the setting, and their actions feel natural. I was never distracted by prose that drew attention to itself and stayed within the story as I read. Another enjoyable pulpy novel in the series I am banging my way through.
